As the famous saying goes, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” But what makes the morning meal so special?

The energy our bodies use to function throughout the day is given to us through food. When you first wake up, your body is very low on energy because you haven’t eaten in several hours. In order to start filling those depleted energy levels, you need to break the fast … hence the name breakfast!

Even if you need an on-the-go breakfast, there are many well-rounded recipes you can make to start your day. A well-rounded meal should ideally include a source of carbohydrates, proteins and healthy fats. Below are some breakfast food examples that fall into these categories.
