Mrs. Valerie Dickman is a yoga instructor in the Slainte Fitness Center at USLI. She is a YTT-200, AFAA Group Exercise and Total Barre certified instructor as well as a trained Reiki Master. Valerie is also a member of the 2025 cohort of UC Berkeley’s Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certificate Program under the instruction of Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield.

A former public relations executive, Valerie turned to fitness after having her first child. Because of the important role group fitness played in her own journey, she began teaching pre- and postnatal fitness, dance and barre in hopes of helping others feel strong, healthy and supported.

In recent years, Valerie has expanded her instruction to include yoga, meditation and energy healing modalities and is deeply passionate about helping people integrate their mind, body and spirit. She’s committed to meeting students wherever they may be on their fitness journey and feels group exercise should be an enjoyable, positive experience. Valerie uses laughter, dynamic movement, upbeat music and good vibes to elevate both moods and heart rates!
